If you have Arachnophobia than this story may not be for you and neither is the Tennessee neighborhood where the creepy crawlers have invaded.
CNN reported that residents in North Memphis are complaining that literally thousands of spiders have come into their homes. They have described the situation like something out of a horror movie.
“They’re just in the air; they’re flying everywhere. They all on the house, on the side of the windows,” Debra Lewis.
Her neighbors have echoed that statement.
The source of the arachnids is a half-mile long web and the number of the eight leggers could actually be in the millions according to Memphis Zoo curator Steve Reichling.
“It's a mass dispersal of the millions of tiny spiders that have always been in that field, unnoticed till now,” he said. “It could be juveniles - millions - in a big emergence event, or adults of a tiny species - probably a sheetweb spider - leaving for some reason possibly knowable only to them.”
So far there is no word yet on when and if any type of action can be taken to rid the neighborhood of this problem.
