Teen Mom 2 star, Leah Messer, lost custody of her twins with ex-husband Corey Simms last month and she’s now claiming part of the reason for her alleged negligent parenting is due to narcolepsy.
As we previously reported, Simms took Messer to court to get full custody of Ali and Aleeah, 4, and won. Part of his reasoning was he alleged Messer couldn’t get the girls to school on time or get their daughter Ali to physical therapy appointments.
Messer has said she suffered from anxiety and depression, which she sought treatment for. She’s now saying she's narcoleptic. When a Twitter user scolded her for claiming to have the disease when she hasn’t been diagnosed, she replied, “They are still doing the testing” but doctors are “pretty sure that’s what I have.”
Media outlets and fans alike have accused her of lying and using narcolepsy as an excuse for her poor parenting. Nonetheless, she recently told Us Weekly of her daughters, “I feel like they should have both of us in their lives.”
