Following Last Week’s Vote…
Savage’s stunning blindside last week lit a fire under his remaining allies to split up Ciera, Abi, and Wentworth, or as Kimmi dubbed them, the #WitchesCoven. But when exactly does a plan ever follow through the way it’s supposed to?
Searching For The Idol…
Since Wentworth played her hidden immunity idol last tribal council, the search was on this week to find it before Ciera, Abi, or Wentworth could get their hands on it. Joe was especially eager to claim it for himself considering how big of a target he is. But of course who should find it but the person who already has a hidden immunity idol, aka Jeremy! After locating the clue by Tree Mail, he followed a map one night to a path lit by a torch where he found it there up for grabs. As he tearfully tucked it in his pocket, he dedicated it to his wife back home and pledged that he would do his best to make a better life for her and their family.
The Reward Challenge…
Tonight’s reward challenge was a throwback to Survivor: Cagayan that Spencer and Tasha ended up losing. After a schoolyard pick which left Abi on the bench unable to participate (shocker), the team of Joe, Ciera, Fishbach, Spencer, and Tasha decimated the other players. The winning group was whisked away to the Survivor Spa where they feasted on delicious food, indulged in a shower, and were treated to a traditional Cambodian massage. #Relaxation
Of course, not being one to stay silent, Ciera used the outing as a chance to talk strategy with the others. She warned that if they took someone like Jeremy or Wiglesworth to the end, there was no chance anyone could beat them. This gave Fishbach pause for concern when he noticed that Joe and Wiglesworth are like a brother/sister duo. This is why he approached the aforementioned #Witches to see if they’d be interested in playing with him. Ciera guaranteed they would vote however he wanted since they didn’t have anything to lose.
The Immunity Challenge…
This week’s immunity challenge involved balancing on triangular platforms in the water. #Ouch Oh, and it was also pouring. #Brutal Once again, this was a competition first run during Survivor: Cagayan that, yes, both Spencer and Tasha had also lost. Tonight was no different. Tasha could not balance on her platform, but Spencer had decided to jump down from his when Probst tempted the castaways with an advantage in the game. They could only get it if they gave up immunity and swam to their buoy before anyone else. Unfortunately, he was one second too late because Fishbach beat him to it.
It ultimately came down to Joe and Abi. While poor Joe struggled to balance, Abi looked like a statue throughout the challenge. That all ended as cramps set in meaning a third straight immunity win for Joe. Clearly everyone was thrilled. #NotSoMuch
The Scramble Back At Camp…
The plan amongst the majority was pretty straightforward: split up Ciera, Abi, and Wentworth, only this time split up the votes so that a repeat of last week’s tragedy could be avoided. Fishbach though had other ideas. He asked the #Witches to help him get rid of Wiglesworth. Then he approached Jeremy and Spencer to do the same. The two voiced concerns that it was pretty risky to leave a sure thing for people they didn’t trust, but they started to consider it.
Tribal Council…
As the rain came down in sheets, and thunder and lightning made their presence felt, the theme of tribal council tonight was, “I really hope this plan works.” Also, viewers were reminded why someone should never announce they’re feeling confident about the votes. The minute you say something like that, you’re guaranteed to go home. Wiglesworth found that out the hard way tonight as another classic #blindside was carried out.
Until Next Week...
It looks like the contestants might need to build an ark because Mother Nature doesn’t look like she’s letting up on the downpours anytime soon. And with Fishbach, Spencer, and Jeremy having gone against the majority alliance, combined with Fishbach’s advantage (the ability to steal a vote at tribal council), it’s anyone’s guess what he’ll have up his sleeve next!
