Ronda Rousey posts statement after first MMA loss

Ronda Rousey gave fans an update about her condition after her first MMA loss on Saturday.

The boxer took to Instagram to thank everyone for their love and explain that she is doing well after she was hospitalized after her fight with Holly Holm.

“I just want wanted to thank everyone for the love and support,” Rousey wrote. “I appreciate the concerns about my health, but I’m fine. As I had mentioned before, I’m going to take a little but of time, but I’ll be back.”

Rousey lost to Holm at UFC 193 at Eithad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia. Less than a minute into the second round, Holm kicked Rousey in the head, knocking her to the ground. She continued to fight Rousey until the referee ended the round.

Rousey had won 12 matches in a row before this recent loss, while Holm celebrated her big win immediately after the fight.

“I don’t know, I’m trying to take it all in. This is crazy!” Holm said. “Getting in here, I just felt so much support — I thought, ‘How can I not do this with all this support?’ I had the best coaching, from standup to grappling to wrestling.”
