With Pitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect 2 both becoming successes, writer Kay Cannon has earned a huge opportunity.
Cannon his signed on to direct a comedy titled The Pact, Deadline reported. Funnyman Seth Rogan will be a producer, alongside his longtime creative partner Even Goldberg. Good Universe’s Nathan Kahane, Joe Drake and Chris Cowles will executive produce.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the comedy follows three parents who discover that their daughters have made a pact to lose their virginity on prom night. They go on a mission to try and stop them before it is too late.
Cannon is an excellent writer and his been nominated three times for the Best Writer of a Comedic Series Emmy for her work on Tina Fey’s 30 Rock. So far, the Pitch Perfect franchise has made over $400 million worldwide and a third one is in the works for a 2017 release.
Cannon is repped by WME and Ken Richman at Hansen, Jacobson and Russell is also represented by WME.
