One steps out and one steps in. It will be none other than Luke Evans who steps in for Jared Leto in 'The Girl on the Train'.
After Jared Leto dropped out of The Girl on the Train due to scheduling issues, somebody was needed to take his place.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Luke Evans has joined the set and is ready to take Leto’s place. The film will begin shooting this week with Emily Blunt, Rebecca Ferguson, Haley Bennett and Edgar Ramirez all on board for the film as well.
Leto is the second person to leave the project, as Chris Evans also had to back out due to scheduling issues in October. Evans was replaced by Justin Theroux, Entertainment Weekly stated.
The film is based off of the best-seller by Paula Hawkins and sees Blunt playing a troubled woman whose alcoholic husband left her for his mistress. She then becomes fascinated by a seemingly perfect couple whose home she passes while riding the train. After she thinks she witnesses a murder, she begins to realize that she may have been involved in the crime.
Evans will play the husband of the neighbor that goes missing. The film is set to be released next fall.
