Anime has become more and more popular over the years and fans of the graphic novel Amulet will be happy to hear what is coming next thanks to Fox.
According to Deadline, Fox is developing Amulet into a feature film with Temple Hill producing. Amulet is written by Kazu Kibuishi, who has had six books published since 2008 and has sold two million copies worldwide.
Variety reported the story follows a young girl whose father has died and moves into her great-grandfather's house along with her mother and little brother. The house is thought to be haunted by the other residents of the town and a door is discovered in the basement that leads them into a world filled with robots, demons, animals who display intelligence, and elves.
Book One: The Stonekeeper won the American Library Association’s award for Best Book for Young Adults in 2008 and the next installment will be released in February of 2016.
The deal was negotiated for Kibuishi by Sylvie Rabineau. The author is represented by Judy Hansen of Hansen Literary Management and attorney Darren Trattner at Jackoway Tyerman.
