The Late Night “Phone Call”…
News that comes during the middle of the night is never good, and neither is a visit from Probst in total darkness. He woke up Terry to tell him that his son had been hospitalized, and the doctor felt the situation was serious enough for Terry to come home. Terry didn’t hesitate to pull himself out of the game when he heard the news. The rest of Ta Keo was devastated to hear why Terry had to leave, and they pledged they would do him proud going forward in the game.
More Surprises…
Walking into the reward challenge, everyone was saddened to hear about Terry’s departure, and the game paused as the cast reflected on how quickly things change in life. This made them even more grateful for finally being in unified tribes. Which of course made it an ideal time to switch up the teams. Again. #DropYourBuffs
The current teams stand as follows:
- Bayon: Abi, Ciera, Kass, Savage, Spencer, Wiglesworth & Woo
- Ta Keo: Fishbach, Jeremy, Joe, Keith, Kelley, Kimmi & Tasha
The Reward Challenge…
Up for grabs this week was a picnic of fried chicken, mac & cheese and brownies delivered to camp for the winning tribe. The slip ‘n’ slide competition was pretty fun to watch, especially when Joe oiled up. (C’mon, even Tasha was visibly impressed!) In all seriousness though, the game was evenly matched throughout, but ultimately Ta Keo won.
The Feast…
Things were pretty awkward back at the Ta Keo camp between Kass & Spencer considering the tension between the two from their previous season playing together. Even more obvious was the fact that Spencer found himself on the outs (again) amongst all the other alliances and needed a way in. He figured Savage would be perfect since Spencer had wanted to play with him since the very beginning. Unfortunately, Savage made other arrangements with his allies. They decided that if they lost this week, Spencer would be the first person voted out. However, they’d tell him that they were gunning for Ciera instead. Ciera didn’t take too kindly to that, but she bit her tongue waiting to see how things would play out.
The Struggle For Power At Bayon…
Surrounded by all original Bayon members, Kelley knew she’d have to work hard to keep from being an easy vote, but Joe had other plans. Since he was back with his original alliance and had also created one last week with Keith, Ciera, Kass & Kelley, Joe wanted to have the numbers on his side for the upcoming merge, meaning someone like Kimmi would have to go instead. When he said as much to Fishbach and Tasha, Fishbach told Jeremy and started making plans to vote out Joe. If Joe was this eager to turn on his original alliance, Fishbach reasoned he couldn’t be trusted. Jeremy agreed, but he didn’t want to take out Joe so early because then he himself would become the biggest target. Tasha agreed with Jeremy which led to a complete breakdown during Fishbach’s confessional. Not seizing opportunities early in the game is what cost Fishbach the win back in his season, and he was devastated that history might repeat itself.
The Immunity Challenge…
It was a Survivor classic this week – a food-eating competition featuring local delicacies such as tarantulas, giant water beetles, pig snouts, frogs, pig brains, scorpions, and balut (more commonly known as duck embryo). Yummy, right? Bayon bested Ta Keo in this one, Jeremy even downing some of the uneaten balut on the way to camp. #Gross
Preparing For Tribal…
Back at camp, it seemed Spencer’s time in the game was winding down. Everyone agreed that he would be voted out, and they’d tell him that Ciera was going home instead. Annoyed that she was so dispensable, Ciera rallied Abi and Kass to her side to take out Woo instead since he was Savage’s right-hand man. Kass really had her heart set on getting rid of Spencer, but she kept an open mind, pulling him aside to run through some scenarios. Would this mark the return of Chaos Kass?
Tribal Council…
Savage was pretty confident that his plan would work perfectly, and even Woo was patting himself on the back for being a better player this time around. Only Spencer was worried, telling the camera as he voted, “My fate tonight lies in the hands of Chaos Kass… God help me.”
His prayers were answered. There was another blindside this week, just one that Savage, Wiglesworth and Woo were not expecting. As Woo turned to Savage, Savage could only shake his head and throw his hands up in the air in confusion and disbelief. Which once again proves the point that you can never get too comfortable in this game because everything will be destroyed in that same instant.
Some Great News…
Thankfully the show didn’t leave us hanging when it came to Terry’s son’s medical issue. He received a heart transplant, and he is doing just fine!
Until Next Week...
Hold on to something because Chaos Kass is back with a vengeance! Considering the merge is also happening should make for some interesting dynamics in what has already been an amped up season!
