Sandra Bullock speaks on concerns raising an African American son

Sandra Bullock appears on Glamour magazine’s November cover and talks about life as a mom, her new movie with George Clooney and raising her African American son.

When asked if she ever thinks about the challenges African Americans face, Bullock told Glamour, "Every day. Tearing up again. You see how far we’ve come in civil rights—and where we’ve gotten back to now. I want my son to be safe. I want my son to be judged for the man he is. We are at a point now where if we don’t do something, we will have destroyed what so many amazing people have done."

"If I could ride in a bubble with him for the rest of his life, I would. But I can’t," she added.

Bullock adopted her son Louis in 2010 when she was still married to Jesse James. However, upon her divorce, she finalized the adoption as a single mother. Bullock tells Glamour that both divorce and motherhood helped her find herself, adding that Louis is her "greatest gift" and having a child forced her "to get her sh-t together."

Bullock has reportedly adopted a second child and plans to raise her family with boyfriend Bryan Randall.
