Katy Perry might not be too happy about Russell Brand’s upcoming documentary BRAND: A Second Coming, which was partly filmed during their 14-month marriage.
Brand, who split from the “Roar” singer in 2012 when she alleges he told her he wanted a divorce via text message, mocks his ex-wife in the film.
“Oh my f—king god. I’m living this life of the very thing I detest,” he said. “Vapid, vacuous celebrity. Fame and power is bulls—t.” He also loathed being known as Perry’s husband, mocking people who would say "Oh, who's he?" ... "He's married to Katy Perry".'
He also had a conversation with his friend, Stephen Merchant, where he foreshadows their divorce after a spiritual trip to Africa in 2010.
Brand called their short marriage “not a resolution to anything spiritual,” adding, “at some point, to be happy, I’m going to have to walk away.” But he did say, “It's definitely good I'm with someone I love.”
