Rihanna fans have been patiently waiting and speculating about her eighth album and the Grammy winner finally revealed the cover at a Los Angeles art gallery Wednesday night.
According to Rolling Stone, the cover of her new album, titled Anti, depicts the singer as a child with a golden crown covering her eyes and a message written in braille displayed across the canvas.
Rihanna's last album, Unapologetic, was released in November, 2012. The gap is uncovential for Rihanna as she put out seven albums in eight years starting with her 2005 debut Music of the Sun.
The LA Times reported that Rihanna feels this is her favorite album cover yet and she is the first artist to incorporate physical braille on an album cover. She explained the meaning behind it, saying, "The whole idea of the Braille is, sometimes the people with sight are the blindest."
Despite not releasing an album in almost three years, the singer has been busy dropping singles throughout the year including "FourFiveSeconds" featuring Kanye West and Paul McCartney, "American Oxygen," and most recently "Bitch Better Have My Money," all accompanied by videos.
The unveiling of the cover has given fans a renewed sense of hope that the release is just around the corner but fans may need to wait a little longer, however, as no release date for Anti has been revealed as of yet.
