On Oct. 9, Bill Cosby sat through a deposition in which Gloria Allred questioned him for seven hours. The procedure is part of a civil lawsuit brought on by Judy Huth, who alleges Cosby molested her in 1974 at the Playboy Mansion.
55 accusers have come forward to claim Cosby drugged and assaulted them. While the statute of limitations expired for most, Huth has been allowed to pursue her case, as the alleged incident occurred when she was 15.
According to a report from Deadline, Friday was the first time Cosby answered questions under oath about sexually assaulting women. In a separate 2005 case, he spoke about luring women with Quaaludes to have consensual sex.
CNN pointed out that Allred questioned him from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and that she plans to continue with the case following the deposition. "He may try to escape. He's going to evade, but we're going to have a lot of questions," she said beforehand. "We are going to be persistent. We want the answers. We're entitled to get them."
Although reports have a camera recording Cosby, details won’t emerge until two months from now. Lawyers were told not to talk about it, while a Los Angeles Superior Court judge said his testimony is sealed until Dec. 22.
The actor and comedian has been fending off multiple lawsuits as of recent. Three women filed a libel suit in a Massachusetts court. While Cosby tried to get it dismissed, the judge has since allowed the suit to move forward. As well, model Janice Dickinson filed a defamation suit, alleging his conduct and statements affected her personally and professionally.
