Singer and reality TV star Omarion has pulled out of a planned performance at DSTRKT nightclub in London after they were accused of racism.
According to BBC a protest was held after a group of women said two of them were not allowed entrance because of their race and appearance. DSTRKT denied the allegations and management stated “DSTRKT restaurant and club has launched a thorough investigation into this alleged event and found that at no stage did any of the DSTRKT staff said to the women they were not to be allowed in on any the basis of their skin color or size.”
Rolling Out reported that one of the women, London actress Zalika Miller, said that the promoter of the club told her that her friends were “too dark” and “overweight” She then took the story to social media.
The club has a list of previous celebrity visitors, including Jay-Z and Rihanna. Omarion tweeted on Oct. 2 that he would not be attending the performance period.
I will not be attending #DstrktLondon tonight period.
