Melissa Benoist responds to Jeb Bush saying she's 'pretty hot'

Supergirl lead, Melissa Benoist, is reacting to Jeb Bush saying she's "pretty hot" by awkwardly laughing.

CNN reports that during a speaking event in Las Vegas last Wednesday, Bush confessed he saw an ad for the show while working out and noted that Supergirl was "pretty hot."

"She looked pretty hot. I don’t know which channel it’s on, but I’m looking forward to that," Bush said.

Benoist spoke to CBS This Morning and did not escape being asked what she thought about Bush’s comments.

The former Glee actress awkwardly laughed and said, "I heard about it, but I don’t know what to think about it. I’m glad he’s excited to see the show."

In terms of what she hopes people take away from the show she said,"I really would love to reach young girls and to be a good role model for them."

As we previously reported, Benoist’s character, Supergirl or Kara Zor-El, is Superman’s cousin who escapes to Earth when her native planet of Krypton is destroyed.

Supergirl premiered on Oct. 26 on CBS.
