Elizabeth “Lee” Miller was a muse and collaborator to famous artists such as Pablo Picasso and Man Ray, an acclaimed photojournalist documenting some of the most important moments in history, a witness to wartime atrocities and one of the most glamorous women of her time. Her story will now be told on the big screen.
Variety reports that Kate Winslet will be playing Lee Miller with Troy Lum and Andrew Mason of Hopscotch Features producing. The film is not yet titled. The film will be based off of Miller’s biography, The Lives of Lee Miller.
Hopscotch has optioned the rights to the book and the obtained access to the Lee Miller Archives, curated by Penrose, which includes all her photos and diaries, Sydney Morning Herald reported. Miller has a story worth telling but it is still unknown if the film will focus on her entire life or a particular period of her life.
Winslet is currently on a hot streak as she has major roles in Steve Jobs and The Dressmaker, which are hitting theaters soon. Winslet is repped by CAA and United Agents.
