Kate Winslet has been nominated for a total of six Academy Awards, and she won in 2008 for her role in The Reader. In a new interview, Winslet reveals the “hysterical” place she keeps her Oscar.
"The whole point is for everybody to pick it up and go, 'I'd like to thank my son and my dad' – and you can always tell when someone has, because they're in there a little bit longer after they flushed," she said. "They'll come out looking slightly pink-cheeked. It's hysterical."
As for being a bona fide movie star, Winslet said she just doesn’t consider herself to be one.
"I just don’t feel like one, and I don't live like one either,” she said. “Not the way I imagine a proper movie star living.”
The Steve Jobs star went on to discuss her two failed marriages to Jim Threapleton and Sam Mendes and her current marriage to Ned Rocknroll.
"No one really knows why my first marriage didn't last; no one knows why my second didn't,” she explained. “And I'm proud of those silences."
She admitted it “hasn’t been easy,” but she has a great marriage now. "Thank God for Ned – really," she said. "He's just so incredibly supportive, and he's so much fun. He's absolutely everything to me. And to all of us."
