The film is called Timequake and is shooting for a 2017 release date. K-9 first appeared in 1977 in the serial The Invisible Enemy. The creator, Bob Baker, will write the script as well. Baker also created Omega, and Cinema Blend speculates that he could be the villain.

Baker owns the rights to all of his characters, not the BBC, so it would make sense that he would use Omega as the villain. As for K-9, he has always been a popular character, although, in 1981 a K-9 TV show flopped and he went away for a while. He appeared back on TV in 2006.

There are few details released about the film, but it is still enough to make Dr. Who fans everywhere to get excited.
