Houston Texans running back Arian Foster will be out for the rest of the season after suffering an injury in Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins.
According to ESPN, Foster suffered a torn Achilles tendon and will have an MRI on Monday. The injury happened late in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game. He was starting to run his passing route, fell to the ground and grabbed his leg and had to be carted off the field.. No one made contact with him on the play.
"Just a routine play. Trying to make a cut, gave out on me," Foster recalled.
"I feel terrible for him," Texans head coach Bill O’Brien said. "He's done a lot for us in the two years I've been here. I hate that part of the game."
Foster had 18 carries for 59 yards, five receptions for 66 yards, and two touchdowns on Sunday, according to NFL.com. This season he has 63 carries for 163 yards. He missed the first three games with a groin injury. He has missed at least one game due to injury every year except one since 2011.
The Texans will now have to rely on DeAndre Hopkins with Foster being out. They are 2-5 and are one game back in the AFC South.
