She paired the diamond tiara with a red Jenny Packham gown for her first state banquet since marrying into the royal family in 2011.

Reporters covering the banquet have been tweeting close-ups of her regal tiara and gown, which featured cap sleeves and an elegant rounded neckline.

According to USA Today, the Lotus Flower tiara originally belonged to Queen Elizabeth’s late mother. It was then passed to her late sister, Princess Margaret.

This is the third time Duchess Kate has worn a tiara to a royal engagement and the second time she’s worn the Lotus Flower tiara; first wearing it in 2013.

The Telegraph reports the tiara is also referred to as the Papyrus tiara. She was seated in the most prestigious seat for a female royal besides Queen Elizabeth, to the left of the guest of honor.
