30 Rock star Alec Baldwin has announced in his WNYC podcast Wednesday that he has decided that he will not run for the mayor of New York City.

In his Here’s The Thing podcast, he told his listeners that “I’ve lost my appetite.”

The topic was raised by his guest, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close director Stephen Daldry, who suggested that Baldwin run for mayor, according to The New York Times. The actor claimed that he lost his interest in running partly because of his disappointment in the current field of candidates. “They’re like a guy on a date that you can tell he just can’t wait to get his hand up your blouse before even the lights go out in the theater...They’re all just so horny for it,” he said referencing their eagerness to take the job.

Another reason he gave was that he loves his job playing Jack Donaghy on NBC’s 30 Rock. "I've got a job now…We have fun, and it's a family and I love New York and I've got a life," he told Daldry, reports Fox News.

He also wondered how he could give up his life for the chance to change things when he is not really sure that could actually happen. “I give up money and fame and position and success, I give up this wonderful life I have now in exchange for the chance to really change things. Yeah, I'm not quite sure you can anymore,” he said.

Baldwin told the New York Times in August that he would not run in 2013, but would consider running in the future. At the time, he said that he was interested in enrolling in a master’s program in politics and government at two top universities to help him learn how the system works.
