Adam Levine's new reality show headed to NBC

Adam Levine's reality show pilot has been picked up by NBC. The show is based off Maroon 5's popular music video, "Sugar," which features the band crashing and performing at various weddings.

Deadline.com reported that Levine was working with Wedding Crashers director David Dobkin along with Renegade 83, production company behind Discovery's Naked and Afraid. The show will be an hourlong unscripted event that will feature situations very similar to that shown in the "Sugar" video. The show will feature superfans who are working with a team of improv experts. What the fans won't know is that they are about to be surprised with a star that they love, who will appear at a major life event.

Music videos are becoming an influencer when it comes to television programing. NBC is working on a TV movie influenced by Dolly Parton's "Coat of Many Colors" and Fox is working on a limited series that is based off of Carrie Underwood's "Two Black Cadillacs."
