VFILES designers Discount Universe accuse Miley Cyrus of plagiarizing styles in VMA performance

Miley Cyrus is getting attention for her MTV VMA performance yet again. Only, this time, the shade isn’t coming from Nicki Minaj.

Based on a report from Complex magazine, Discount Universe, a VFILES brand, pointed out how much Cyrus’ costumes during “Dooo It!” resembled their styles. The similarities come down to the repeated eye motif, worn on Cyrus and the 31 drag queens dancing with her, and the color-blocking combination.

However, a little-known designer named Brad “BCalla” put the designs together for the VMA number.

Cyrus, too, appears familiar with Discount Universe. The Melbourne-based brand, designed by Cami James and Nadia Napreychikov, is well-known enough to have done Fashion Week presentations before, while Cyrus has been spotted in one of their shirts. As Complex pointed out, she sported one in a photo shoot with Terry Richardson and later during her Bangerz tour.

While the pop star known for “Wrecking Ball” has yet to make a comment, VFILES’ Julie Ann Quay pointed out the similarities on Twitter

Discount Universe followed with a response on Instagram:

At least we have YOU!!! ❤️❤️❤️
