Three, including 1-month-old baby, injured in Selma church shooting

Three people were injured in a church shooting in Selma, Alabama Sunday and a suspect is in custody.

CBS News reports that the tragedy comes as a result from a domestic issue between the suspect, James Minter, and the female victim.

According to the The Montgomery Advisor the victims included the church pastor, a woman reported to be Minter’s girlfriend and her infant. All three were hospitalized.

The incident occurred around 10:25 a.m. inside the Oasis Tabernacle Church. Multiple reports indicate the victims are all in stable condition.

WTVM reported witness accounts that say Minter was shooting at his girlfriend when the pastor attempted to grab Minter and was shot. Others then assisted in trying to calm Minter and were able to take his firearm before he fled and was taken into custody by police.

MInter is being held without bond and is being charged with three counts of attempted murder. The investigation is still ongoing.
