Selena Gomez is commenting on her ex, Justin Bieber’s recent success with singles like “Where Are U Now” and “What Do You Mean?” saying she’s always seen that side of him even when he was going through a rough period in his career.
But in an interview with the New York Times, she defended herself. "While people were writing that I was stupid for being in [the relationship], this is what I always saw in him. I'm like, duh!" she said.
When it comes to her new album Revival, it really marks a pivotal moment in her career where she’s branching out and doing things her own way.
“It's all part of my story,” she said. “I'm growing and changing. I was in a relationship, and I was being managed by my parents, and I was still under Hollywood and Disney, and I was being held to this expectation of being the good girl."
Earlier this month, the “Same Old Love” singer said of her ex she will “forever support him and love him.”
