'Saturday Night Live' picks a Donald Trump for season 41

“It’s gonna be HUUUUUGEE!”

Saturday Night Live has announced that cast member Taran Killam will be playing Donald Trump this election season.

SNL is often at its best during election season and with Trump in the running, season 41 should be no different. Killam has been on the show since 2010. Although he has a collection of original characters, Killam is known for impersonating Brad Pitt, Piers Morgan, Matthew McConaughey, Michael Cera, and Andy Cohen.

Deadline Hollywood reports that current cast members of the 41 year old sketch show auditioned to play Trump. In the past Trump was portrayed by Darrell Hammond, former cast member and current announcer.

Deadline also reported that Hammond is likely to return as Bill Clinton, the character he is best known for portraying. Because Hillary Clinton is running, Hammond’s Bill Clinton may have a significant role in the next season. Cast member Kate McKinnon took over impersonating Hillary Clinton from former cast member Amy Poehler.

Here is an example of Hammond’s portrayal of Mr. Clinton.
