ABC News reports, the peach state beauty performed “Tu Tu Piccolo Iddio” from the opera Madame Butterfly, a talent that helped her win a preliminary competition.
During the pageant’s question and answer portion, the former Miss Georgia was asked to share her thoughts on Tom Brady's DeflateGate scandal. According to The Washington Post, Cantrell asked judge Brett Eldredge to repeat the question and responded, “Did he cheat? Um, that’s a really good question. I’m not sure,” she said. “I think I’d have to be there to see the ball and feel it and make sure it was deflated or not deflated. But if there was question there, then, yes, I think he cheated. If there was any question to be had, I think that he definitely cheated, and that he should have been suspended for that. That’s not fair.”
Miss Mississippi, Hannah Roberts was the first runner up while Miss Colorado, Kelley Johnson finished third.
