We all make mistakes, luckily we aren’t all on national television when we make them.
Fox News anchor Shepard Smith had a bit of a slipup Thursday. When previewing a story about the “Mona Lisa,” Smith credited the wrong Leo for creating the world renowned portrait.
“And an update from scientists trying to identify the model from Leonardo DiCaprio’s ‘Mona Lisa:’ after digging up a woman’s remains and putting then through DNA testing it seems they are no closer to knowing the smile… stay tuned”
As talented as DiCaprio is, he was not a Renaissance painter. According to ABC, DiCaprio does have a link to Leonardo da Vinci, the real artist of the “Mona Lisa.” DiCaprio’s mother was working in Florence during her pregnancy. When DiCaprio’s parents were looking at a photo of da Vinci, DiCaprio began to kick like crazy.
