Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson will sing in Disney's 'Moana'

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is known for his incredible strength and stature but in the upcoming Disney feature Moana, he will not only be starring but will be singing in the film.

Monana, which was announced during D23, will tell the story of a Polynesian and Pacific Islander princess, the first in the history of the animation studio, NBC reported.

The film already has an impressive musical lineup. The team includes; South Pacific musician Opetaia Foa'i of the group Te Vaka, composer Mark Mancina who was behind the music for The Lion King and rounding out the group is Lin-Manuel Miranda, who wrote the music for Hamilton on Broadway.

Monana is expected to arrive in theaters on November 23, 2016.

It was also announced at D23 that The Rock would be staring in Disney's upcoming Jungle Cruise movie which is based off of the ride. Disney has been working on developing this project since 2004, when Pirates of the Caribbean became a global success.
