Earlier this week, Ryan Adams announced his plans to cover Taylor Swift’s 1989 in full. However, as many think you shouldn’t mess with an original, is this project a good idea?
We’ll have to wait for the final result. Adams revealed the news two days ago. His Instagram post touched on the lofty, if not potentially controversial, goal. Later, he followed up on Twitter by saying cuts “Style” and “Blank Space” were already done.
By Friday, Adams unveiled two more tracks – “Out of the Woods” and “All You Had to Do Was Stay” – through Twitter:

Adams has been adding his own personal take – a Smiths-esque version of Swift’s pop star turn – but other cover song efforts have proved to be less than stellar or as innovative. William Shatner’s “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” clearly comes to mind, but beyond the obvious, we round up 10 of the strangest cover songs of all time.
