Raging Bull is not just a great sports movie, it's an amazing movie in general. The movie was nominated for eight Academy Awards with Robert De Niro winning one for Best Actor. The story of the meteoric rise of deeply disturbed legendary boxer Jake LaMotta is done so well that, at the end, you sympathize for the main character despite what you have seen him do throughout the entirety of the movie.
