Taylor Swift turns down $2 million to perform at godson's christening

Taylor Swift turned down $2 million to perform at a billionaire’s wedding to instead, sing for free, at her friend Jaime King’s son’s christening.

According to Sunday Express, the 25-year-old would have been required to spend 30 minutes mingling with the billionaire, his bride and their guests, and he would pay her a million dollars per song. International Business Times notes that the singer is worth $200 million, so she could pass up a mere $2 million.

The seven-time Grammy winner did not offer the name to the billionaire.

Jaime King and her husband Kyle Newman, named Swift the godmother to their second son Leo Thames, who was born last month.

“Taylor arrived with her own music backing tracks and belted out some of her biggest hits, including Love Story, I Knew You Were Trouble and Red,” a guest of the christening, according to Sunday Express, said. “She even rocked little Leo in her arms and hummed a lullaby to him. But he started screaming almost immediately, so she sheepishly handed him back to his mom.”

Earlier in the month, Swift dedicated her song “Never Grow Up,” from her Speak Now album, to little Leo during a performance on her 1989 World Tour.
