Police say Rosie O'Donnell's 17-year-old daughter Chelsea was 'of sound mind' when they found her

Chelsea O’Donnell, Rosie O’Donnell’s missing 17-year-old daughter, was thankfully found safe and sound on Tuesday night after being reported missing on Aug. 16. New York police are now describing her state of mind when they found her.

As we previously reported, Rosie sent out a tweet alerting everyone who was concerned or helping in her search that they had found Chelsea, writing she was “safe in police custody.”

Her spokesperson, Cindi Berger, said Chelsea suffers from mental illness and had not been taking her medication.

CBS News reports the police who found her at the New Jersey home of a boy she had been seeing said she was "of sound mind" when she was found and she refused medical attention.

Chelsea’s support dog, Bear, was with her during the time she was missing. She’s the oldest of the three children O’Donnell shares with her ex-wife, Kelli Carpenter. She also has an adopted daughter, Dakota, 2, with her ex Michelle Rounds, whom she’s in a custody battle with.
