Actress Joyce Ingalls died Aug. 5 at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, a rep for her husband said. She was 65.
No cause of death was given by her husband Darrell Fetty’s representatives, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Ingalls was best known for her role in the 1978 film, Paradise Alley starring Sylvester Stallone, in which she played a, “prostitute with a heart of gold,” according to Fox News.
The actress also appeared in Deadly Force, The Man Who Would Not Die and Lethal Weapon 4.
The actress began her career in the 1960’s when she won a Cover Girl contest, which started her successful modeling career and landed her on the cover of Vogue, Cosmopolitan and Life.
A Charleston, S.C. native, Ingalls married Emmy-nominated produced Darrell Fetty in 1984. The two oversaw a homeless ministry in Studio City, and the Darrell and Joyce Fetty Food Pantry has served thousands of needy families for nearly 25 years.
In addition to her husband Darrell, Ingalls is survived by her two sons, mother and eight brothers and sisters. A memorial is being planned for October, and the family asks that donations be made to either the Little Brown Church or Cancer Support Center in Sherman Oaks, Ca.
