Kensington Palace releases public letter warning paparazzi to stop targeting Prince George

Kensington Palace has issued a warning to the media about taking photos of Prince George, 2, after photos were taken of the second to youngest royal out with his grandmother Caroline Middleton.

The palace issued a public letter to the media, saying the paparazzi have taken “extreme lengths” to get photos of Prince George. The last round of photos were likely their last straw.

"A line has been crossed," the letter reads, CBS News reports. "Any further escalation in tactics would represent a very real security risk."

The letter continued, "The worry is that it will not always be possible to quickly distinguish between someone taking photos and someone intending to do more immediate harm.”

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been adamant about having control of the photos published of their children, and they have been generous. Just last month they released new family portraits from Princess Charlotte’s christening, which were shot by Mario Testino.

"Every parent would understand their deep unease at only learning they had been followed and watched days later when photographs emerged," the letter also said.
