Kelly Clarkson gives Demi Lovato unique birthday present

Kelly Clarkson gave Demi Lovato a unique birthday gift during her concert at The Staples Center in Los Angeles. Clarkson covered her hit "Cool For The Summer" during her show last night.

Clarkson beamed when talking about Lovato and said that the two have been friends for a while. “It’s one of my girls’ birthdays tomorrow — when I say my girl, I mean Demi Lovato. It’s Demi’s birthday tomorrow. And she’s always been such a fan, she’s so supportive and so cool… she’s just killing it. I thought I would, for her birthday, sing her new single, ’Cool For The Summer," said Clarkson to the packed crowd.

This cover was the same night that Clarkson announced that she is pregnant with her second child. Clarkson and her husband Brandon Blackstock have one daughter together, River Rose.

Lovato thanked Clarkson via Twitter and that it was the "Best Bday gift ever!"

Clarkson has been performing unique covers throughout her Piece by Piece tour. She has taken on Prince, Nick Jonas, Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift.
