Jenna Bush Hager gives birth to second daughter, names her after president George H.W. Bush

Jenna Bush Hager and her husband, Henry Hager, welcomed their second child on Thursday. The couple welcomed another daughter; Poppy Louise Hager.

Poppy joins older sister Mila, 1, and she’s named after former president George H.W Bush, whose nickname growing up was Poppy. Her middle name is after both of their grandmothers’ middle names.

"We are proud to name her after a man we so adore," Henry told Today.com. Poppy weighed 7 lbs., 9 oz. at the time of her birth.

Bush Hager announced her second pregnancy on the Today Show, where she serves as “adventure correspondent,” in April.

Poppy is the second grandchild for George W. Bush and former first lady Laura Bush.

In a statement to People they shared, “Mom and Poppy are healthy and well,” with Hager adding, “Jenna was fantastic throughout, and Mila can’t stop talking about her ‘baby sissy.’”
