Leo McCarey’s sequel to the 1944 smash hit Going My Way follows the continuing adventures of Bing Crosby’s Father O’Malley. It was also as astonishingly popular as its predecessor and starred Bergman as Sister Mary Benedict. She’s a strict nun and Father O’Malley has to loosen her up. It’s an effective turn from Bergman and earned her an Oscar nomination.
