Beyond hosting Sunday's WWE SummerSlam, the verdict's still out regarding what former The Daily Show ringleader Jon Stewart plans to do with his newly-alluded free-time. The details regarding becomes of the show he once hosted, however, are much clearer, and his replacement Trevor Noah has no qualms showing off the new bottom line.
With the revamped series set to begin on September 28 on Comedy Central, the first official trailer for The Daily Show with Trevor Noah provides a flashy and confident suited-up notice telling fans the same chair is sticking around, but there's a new ass sitting inside. Propelled by quick cuts, Kanye West and even some physical comedy, it doesn't necessarily give viewers a clear understanding of what Noah plans to bring to table (unlike Stephen Colbert's recent string of advertisements), but it's a cheeky tease of what's to come – in more ways than one.
With Stewart's last show bringing in huge ratings and his legacy continuously showered upon for how he revitalized not only the late-night comedy circuit but reporting in general, Noah's got some mighty shows to fill. He seems up to the challenge, however, and the young comedian needs to be confident if wants to get himself head-on in the scene with such a quick turn-around. This is a good start, though, and, with the timeline to Noah's new show growing shorter, more details are expected to come out about the program (i.e. correspondents, the set, etc.). One can only hope they remain up-to-par with Noah's introduction, or he'll have made quite an ass out of himself here.
