The set of 'Sisters' sounds like it was kind of cool, if you are into the idea of spending weeks on end with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly Amy Poehler talked about filming her upcoming movie Sisters. The film also stars Tina Fey, Maya Rudolph, Ike Barinholtz, John Cena, and Dianne Wiest, and was written by Paula Pell, a longtime writer for Saturday Night Live.
Sisters is about two sisters who find out their parent’s house is going to be sold so they decide to through one last party while their mom and dad are away. The movie is inspired by Pell’s real life relationship with her sister and the journals they kept growing up. Pell said, “My sister was three years older and foxy and her diary was always like, ‘I went camping with Bill, I might be pregnant.’ Mine were always like, ‘I changed the grit on my rock tumbler.’”
Poehler called compared the experience to “fantasy camp.” “My character kind of loses her mind as the party goes on. I got to break through ceilings and watch trees smash through houses and drunkenly mouth off to a cop. It’s fantasy camp for a 40-something-year-old woman,” Poehler said. Poehler also talked about the set’s deterioration as shooting progressed. “We spent so many nights in that house. Just like in the movie it got progressively more trashed. By the end, it really did smell totally gross,” she said.
The trailer for Sisters can be seen here. The film is set to be released on Dec. 18.
