Amy Schumer gives her opinion on the selfie stick and more (video)

Is it possible to not laugh when Amy Schumer starts talking? We think no.

In a new video released by Vanity Fair Schumer shared her childhood nickname, her opinion on selfie sticks, and so much more.

“Well the mean kids called me ‘Amy Shoemaker,’ the comedian said of her childhood nickname. “I don’t know why but it really hurt my feelings. And my parents almost opened a shoe store, and I was like ‘No! Don’t do this to me,” Schumer shared.

When asked about the selfie stick Schumer responded, “Selfie sticks are the most disgusting development that human beings have made for a long time. I am so infuriated when I see someone with a selfie stick.” She admitted that she did consider that people might buy them to avoid needing to ask someone else to take their photo, but that wasn’t enough to shift her mindset. “I think they’re vile,” she said.

Schumer said people often tell her she looks like Amy Schumer, and she credited Gida Radner, Lucille Ball, Carol Burnett, Miss Piggy and all the Muppets, and Whoopi Goldberg as her comedic influences growing up.

Our favorite funny lady has been quite busy this week. It was announced that she and Jennifer Lawrence are writing a screenplay. On Monday, Schumer called in to Bachelor spinoff show After Paradise to share her excitement over the newly crowned Bachelor. And, On Thursday night, Billy Joel brought Schumer and Lawrence onstage to dance on his piano to the song “Uptown Girl.”
