Date Night
We begin the episode with Sheriff Stilinski at his office getting ready for a date with an unidentified woman (here’s hoping it’s with Melissa McCall). But you know this is Teen Wolf, meaning that it wouldn’t be date night without some kind of life or death incident. At the office, the Sheriff, Stiles, and Scott, run into a young man we had only seen briefly in a previous episode when he was being arrested. Turns out his name is Donovan, and he had once tried to become a Deputy Sheriff. In an eerie scene, Donovan threatens to kill Sheriff Stilinski, a threat none of them take seriously, especially not Stiles. Donovan’s lawyer, who also happens to be Tracy’s dad, arrives and he and a couple of police officers lead Donovan into an awaiting van.
Car trouble
Donovan, his lawyer, and their police escort head out in the van, and on their way, they begin to lose control of the car as the driver begins to experience paralysis in his limbs. When the car finally come to a stop, they realize that there is something on the roof, well someone, Tracy. She attempts to kill all the men in the van, including her father, but Donavan manages to escape, only to be caught by the three men in the metallic outfits and what looks like Hazmat masks, who use a machine to drill into his skull. Ok, it’s getting kind of annoying/confusing describing these three figures appearance as a way of identifying them, so from now on, I am just going to refer to them as “The doctors”.
Kira and Lydia attempt to teach Malia how to drive, a lesson that is not going too well. Lydia leads the girls downtown because she senses the dead/dying people in the van. They arrive at the scene and call the police, Scott, and Stiles. Scott is able to track down Donavan who is in shock, repeatedly saying the name Tracy.
Night Terrors
We learn from Parish that Tracy visited the hospital and killed her psychiatrist. At school, Scott is doing surprisingly well in his AP biology class, and surprise surprise, after a murderous rampage, Tracy is back in school, sitting in history class. Though it is Scott walking towards her, Tracy sees “The Doctors” attacking her, a clear sign that she is still be dreaming because she’s not seeing things are they really are. She passes out and vomits a silver liquid, so Stiles, Malia, and Scott rush her to the animal clinic. Dr. Deaton believes the liquid is Mercury, and when he tries to cut through her skin, his blade breaks. During the examination, Tracy’s back opens up and a tail whips out striking and paralyzing the four of them. Turns out Tracy is a Kanima, remember Jackson anyone? The rules really are changing as Tracy is able to cross the mountain-ash barrier that Dr. Deaton created, a line supernatural creatures are not meant to be able to cross, leaving Dr. Deaton, Malia, Scott, and Stiles lying paralyzed on the floor.
Save the Kitsune
During this time, Lydia and Kira go and check out Tracy’s room where they find a dreamcatcher and realize that Tracy is not awake, she is trapped in a night terror, and is killing anyone who has tried to help her, meaning Natalie Martin, Lydia’s mother, is next. Also during this time Liam and Mason meet with Brett Talbot, and member of Satomi’s pack to try and find out Tracy’s origin, but he says that even they have never heard of her. The three of them head to the woods looking for the hole where Liam had seen Tracy’s necklace, but when Mason falls into another hole, they realize that it is in fact not a hole, but a grave, and there are many of them. Which begs the question, who else was buried, and now that the graves are empty, where have the people gone.
At the Sheriffs office, we see who Sherriff Stilinski was heading on a date with, drumroll please...Natalie Martin. I did not see that coming. Lydia and Kira show up just as Tracy does and Kira and Tracy have an epic fight that ends with Kira in full Kitsune form (I’m talking electricity and all), chopping off Tracy’s tail. During the battle, Lydia gets stabbed by the Kanima. As Kira is trying to stop Lydia from bleeding to death, Malia, who was the first to wake from her paralysis arrives and chases Tracy into the basement where she almost kills her, but stops when she senses Tracy waking up from the night terror. Just when you think that Tracy can be saved, “The Doctors” show up and kill her, holding Malia back so she cannot stop them. Seems like “The Doctors” kill anyone who doesn’t accomplish their mission. We’re still not even sure what that mission is.
Back at the animal clinic, Theo shows up offering his help. Though skeptical, Scott and Stiles realize they might need him. I guess we’ll see what Theo has to hide in the coming episodes.
Almost forgot, Stiles has finally found a clue about the "Desert Wolf", aka Malia's mother. Turns out she's a murderous wolf who's leaving a string of bodies in her wake. I can't wait to meet her (that wasn't sarcasm, I really do love meeting new villains).
As Mason said, Intense
