Caitlyn Jenner, then Bruce Jenner, filmed Can’t Stop the Music with actor Steve Guttenberg over thirty years ago and Guttenberg is now pledging his support for the I Am Cait star after the transition.
Guttenberg recalled his 21st birthday party, describing what a stand-up guy Bruce was.
“He was the only one from the film who showed up,” he said, Fox News reports. “He helped set everything up with my mom and dad. He went to the basement and helped my father rearrange his gym. He showed my sister his Olympic medals. He danced with my grandmother. He cleaned up the party afterwards.”
Guttenberg, who has dozens of film credits to his name since the ’70s, will star in the upcoming Syfy film Lavalantula, which premieres Saturday.
“I can’t say enough about how much I admire Caitlyn,” he said. “I will be a lifelong friend of hers.”
Jenner has received endless support throughout this process, though she did reveal her “voice issue” is the only part of the transition she’s not satisfied with.
