Sophie B. Hawkins, best known for ‘90s songs like "Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover,” has given birth to her second child at the age of 50.
Hawkins was 43 when she gave birth to her son, Dashiell, 7. She gave birth to daughter Esther Ballantine Hawkins on Tuesday.
"Dashiell and I are ecstatic to finally be with our beautiful girl. Our family is now complete!" she told Us Weekly in a statement.
Hawkins is raising her two kids on her own after freezing 15 embryos when she was 31.
"Being 50 is actually an amazing age to have a second child because I am more wise, calm, humorous, appreciative, simple and clear," she said before Esther was born.
Hawkins also made it clear she doesn’t need a partner for “love and validation,” adding, “I live each day full of gratitude, and that's good for my children."
Hawkins confirmed to People back in February that she was pregnant again. She said her son "really needs a sibling,” because he “has one parent who’s 50. I want him to have a family of young people too!”
