Piers Morgan gets backlash for tweeting at 'Black Twitter,' his op/ed on Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift feud

Twitter is not happy with Piers Morgan for his tweets about the Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift feud but especially because of his op/ed on the situation.

His first step in angering Twitter users was by addressing African Americans as “Black Twitter.” He got a lot of backlash for that alone and followed up with, “I haven’t even posted my @NICKIMINAJ column yet and #BlackTwitter is already branding me a disgrace….”

In the MailOnline op/ed, Morgan further explained his definition of “Black Twitter,” which is a “very large, vocal and aggressive social media group of mainly black Americans who collectively leap on any perceived racial insult or bias to expel their indignation.”

He makes his side of the VMA argument clear; Swift “did absolutely nothing wrong” and only fell victim to Minaj looking like a “whiny brat that just doesn’t like losing.”

Morgan goes on to say Minaj pulled the “race card” for not getting nominated for Video of the Year for “Anaconda” or Best Collaboration with Beyonce for “Feeling Myself.” She got nominations in three other categories instead, while Swift got nine.

His thoughts on the Minaj-Swift feud weren’t the only thing that got Morgan in hot water, though. The Independent reports Morgan was accused of delegitimizing the Black Lives Matter movement by tweeting “ALL lives matter.”
