Get your fight face ready, Dr. Lahiri, there is a new girl coming for Dr. Castellano’s heart.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Freida Pinto will guest star in The Mindy Project’s season premiere as a love interest for Chris Messina’s Dr. Danny Castellano.
As you may remember season 3 of The Mindy Project ended with an uncertain future for Danny Castellano and Mindy Lahiri (Mindy Kaling). Danny missed an an opportunity to meet Mindy’s parents and she began to rethink their relationship. Mindy was placed on bed rest due to her high risk pregnancy and Danny was supposed to be at his ex-coworker Peter’s (Adam Pally) wedding in Texas. Instead, he decided to fly to India to right things with Mindy. The show left us on a cliffhanger, Dr. Castellano presumably knocking on the door of Mindy Lahiri’s parents’ house.
EW pointed out that fans should not worry about Pinto’s involvement with Messina’s character. The episode is a look at what life could have been like if Mindy and Danny were not together.
Kaling, the series’ star and creator has been optomistic about the move Hulu and the upcoming season of the show. The Mindy Project is set to begin airing on Hulu later this year.
