Jesse Williams writes Twitter essay addressing Sandra Bland

Our favorite Grey's Anatomy star Jesse Williams shared his thoughts Wednesday night regarding Sandra Bland's tragedy.

Bland was pulled over for not turning on her signal during a lane change. She was arrested for assault on a public servant. Bland was found dead in her jail cell July 13.

Protests broke out against the Waller County Police, accusing them of racial violence and discrimination. Williams wanted to speak about the issue.

"THEY are lauded as heroes; patriots. Message boards swell w/ Police being ridiculed & laughed at by this Patriot-Class of Americans," Williams tweeted. "As we well know, police are not THE law. They swear to UPHOLD & ENFORCE the law in a professional, courteous manner, whenever possible," he wrote.

Williams' statement went on, addressing the death of Sandra Bland over the course of 24 tweets.

"WE DO NOT BEGIN AS POLICE PROPERTY, to be freed or detained based on some guy's mood or feeling. We are not theirs," Williams stated.

Williams continued by posting several videos to make his point clear. "White woman hits person w/ car, others cars, assaults police officer AFTER string of thefts, has record wiped clean," Williams wrote for the video he posted. "Pulled over w Active Arrest Warrant, NO License, NO Tags, NO Registration. Police let him go," he added a video of a white man getting pulled over without any consequences.

"#SandraBland's treatment while attempting to travel freely on HER public roadways has been acknowledged as unlawful. She is already dead," Williams wrote in one of his final tweets.
