Everything to know about Princess Charlotte's christening, including her godparents

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be celebrating their baby girl, Princess Charlotte, when she is christened today at St. Mary Magdalene church at Sandringham.

The Kensington Palace twitter account has been updating followers on what will occur during the princess’ big day. The church where Princess Charlotte will be christened is the same place her grandmother, the late Princess Diana, also had her christening.

On the official website for the royal family, the list of attendants for the christening are listed as including Queen Elizabeth and Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, Duchess Catherine’s parents and siblings, as well as the godparents for Princess Charlotte and their spouses.

The Duke and Duchess chose among friends and family those who would be Princess Charlotte’s godparents. The godparents are Sophie Carter, James Meade, Adam Middleton, Laura Fellowes, who is Princess Diana’s niece, and Thomas van Straubenzee. Just like Princess Charlotte, the Duke and Duchess also chose non-royal family members to be Prince George’s godparents.

Like her brother Prince George at his christening, Princess Charlotte is wearing the replica of the Royal Christening Robe, which was handmade by the Queen’s dressmaker, Angela Kelly. The original gown has been preserved after it was deemed too delicate to be worn again.
