There’s still no word on who will try to follow-up Adele’s Oscar-winning theme for Skyfall, but it’s starting to look like it’s Ellie Goulding. She posted another message on social media that appeared to hint that she’s recorded the song for Spectre.
Back on July 9, she tweeted simple message that read “Live and let die,” which of course is the name of Roger Moore’s first James Bond film and the Paul McCartney & Wings song that went with it. That started speculation that she was doing something Bond-related.
On Monday, she confirmed that she’s working on something, since she posted a picture on Instagram. In it, she’s leaving the famed Abbey Road Studios in London and the caption reads, “That’s a wrap.”
Back on July 19, director Sam Mendes did tell the BBC that the song for Spectre was already finished. If Goulding is indeed the singer, she was probably putting some finishing touches on it this week.
Then again, it is entirely possible that she was just at Abbey Road to record something else. She was just featured on the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack with “Love Me Like You Do” and is working on a third album.
According to MTV News, Sam Smith said in a Captial FM interview that he is definitely not doing the Spectre song and did say that he “heard Ellie Goulding was going to do it.”
Spectre hits theaters in the U.S. on Nov. 6.
