Former One Directioner, Zayn Malik’s voice was heard with U.K. rapper Mic Righteous doing a cover of Rae Sremmurd’s "No Type." The producers of the song claim that the track had been stolen
According to Daily Mail, the leak created drama between producer Naughty Boy and Mic Righteous.
Naught Boy claims that the track was unfinished and that it had been stolen. He tweeted, “That had nothing to do with me or Zayn, something was stolen from the hard drive that had nothing to do with the rapper involved.”
Righteous responded to Naughty Boy’s tweet by insisting that he did not steal the track, but in fact released it for Zayn. The 22 year-old cannot release music for two years after his departure from One Direction.
E Online reports that the song was quickly taken down, but Righteous defied the record label and re-uploaded it.
“F**K stepping on egg shells cos I wanna keep the label happy.. I ain’t signed I can do me…Zayn wants the tune out, he ask me to be on the song, shah (naughtyboy) told me that his label wont let him release any music for the next two yrs.. So you know what I did? I did it for him, for you.”
Although the rapper received backlash for the leak, Zayn fans are thankful about the release. Many tweeted about how much they loved the track and their support for Zayn’s solo career.
