Vacation is a comedy about a father taking his family on a road trip with hopes of rekindling the spice in his marriage and reconnecting with his two kids. All three films have top-notch, popular celebrities in their casts, which is sure to bring their fans to each movie’s opening day at their local theater in droves. In addition, each flick’s topic is timely with noteworthy elements that will make moviegoers want to shell out money for tickets to go see each.
Bridge of Spies is a dramatic thriller directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Hanks, Billy Magnussen, Alan Alda and Academy Award nominee Amy Ryan. Set during the Cold War, Hanks plays attorney James Donovan, who is enlisted by the CIA to rescue a pilot who has been apprehended and then imprisoned in the Soviet Union. The motion picture’s trailer displays how Hanks’ character must fight for the freedom and ultimately the life of this pilot, who many believe has leaked top secret information to the Soviets and is therefore a traitor. It opens in theaters on Friday, October 16.
Everest is an adventurous thriller starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Keira Knightley, Robin Wright, Josh Brolin, Terminator Genisys’ Jason Clarke and Sam Worthington. Based on the true events of the 1996 Mount Everest disaster, the plot revolves around members of the climbing expedition, who find themselves in a life or death struggle to survive after a debilitating snowstorm slams into the famous mountain. The film’s trailer shows the majestic yet treacherous crag, but then an unforeseen massive snowstorm that threatens their getting through the climb alive. It opens in theaters on Friday, September 18.
Vacation is a comedy starring Chris Hemsworth, Leslie Mann, Keegan-Michael Key of Comedy Central’s sketch comedy show Key and Peele, Beverly D’Angelo, Chevy Chase, Christina Applegate, Ed Helms, Charlie Day and Michael Peña. This laughfest centers on Rusty Griswold (Helms) taking his family on a road trip to “Wally World” in hopes of revitalizing his marriage and reconnecting with his two children. The comedy’s trailer illustrates the harrowing times while on a road trip along with the incredibly farcical things that can happen. Everyone in the cast presents their singular comedic talents for slapstick as well as physical comedy. It opens in theaters on Wednesday, July 29.
